Let's Get Acquainted Linky Party!!!

It is time to get Acquainted with your fellow teacher bloggers!!!
Topic- Tic Tac Toe
How it Works:  Look at the graphic below.  It is a Tic Tac Toe board filled with different categories.  You will post about three of these categories but they have to make Tic Tac Toe.  For example, you can choose to write about 3 topics that go vertical, or 3 topics that go horizontal, or three topics that go diagonal.
I am doing the first vertical column.
I went to ____ College and favorite Memory
I went to Tennessee State University.  It is located in Nashville, Tennessee.  It is a Historically Black University with a rich history and has been around for 101 years.  My two sisters also went to TSU so I guess it is a family tradition.   My favorite college memory would have to be from freshman year.  I met my husband on the second day that I was there.  We became friends and the rest was history. We are both from the same hometown but had never met before.  I am grateful for my college experience and thankful that it had such an impact on my life.  Go tigers!!!
My first year of teaching
All I can say is oh goodness! My first year of teaching was crazy.  When I first accepted my teaching position it was for 2nd grade.  I was so excited because I student taught in second grade and I really felt like I was ready.  Well....a week before school started I was told I would actually be teaching 3rd grade.  I was also told that I would be in a portable.  But not just any portable but a double wide portable that would be shared with another 3rd grade teacher.  This was not a big deal accept for the fact that the portable did not have a wall separating the two classrooms.  We went a week with this big open space and two classes.  Can we say awkward. lol.  Anyways, they finally built a wall and a door and everything was fine.  Only it wasn't. I only had 9 students.  So you know what that means.  Third grade was low and kindergarten was high.  They needed a teacher to go to kindergarten and guess who they chose......ME!  Six weeks into the year and my world was rocked.  They came to my half of a portable and told me and I cried right there in front of both principals.  I was very sad about it but I saw two positives out of it.  One-They gave me money to go on a shopping spree to get kindergarten things for the room.  Two-They gave me 3 days to get my room ready with no kids.  I thought I would be moved in the building but no.  So there I was a new teacher stuck in a tiny half of a portable with 20 kindergarteners and no restroom.  Let's just say I had a crazy year.  All I can do now is laugh about it.  It really shaped me to be a flexible teacher and say it is what it is and just move on.
My favorite grade to teach and why
First Grade of Course!!! I really love teaching this age group because they are a little more mature than kindergarten.  This year will be my 3rd year in first grade and I will be grade level chair.  I am kind of nervous about the responsibility but I think it will be a learning experience.  If you have any advice for me, please leave me some comments on good ideas for a grade level chair.
Well that is it.  I hope you will link up too and join in all of the fun.  I cant wait to read your posts and I look forward to commenting on a lot of them.  Have a great Sunday!!!
Remember you have all week to link up but everyone that links up on Sunday by 11:59pm will receive my Write the Room Centers Packet from my TPT store.
Lastly, please read the post from the person before you and after you in the linky and show them some love by commenting, following, or giving them a shout out etc.

I just woke up like 15 minutes ago.  My hubby was no where in sight and then I here someone cutting grass.  He woke up so early to cut the grass on a Saturday morning.  I am shocked.  We were still up at 2am.  I just woke and I am still sleepy.  How does he do it?
I love to be at home and relax. Enough said!
I may go over to the waterpark.  If not,  I could find a pool to go jump in.
I really want a big breakfast.  I know it is almost lunch, but breakfast can be eaten at anytime of the day.
I am going to clean up around the house as soon as I finish this post.  I had to stop cleaning and join in on  the linky first. lol
My tip was to join linky parties and giveaways.  I gained so many new followers and friends from collaborating with others.

Birds Themed Classroom Decor, Dollar Tree, and Diaper Cake

I am in the process of making some classroom decor packs.  The first one I completed is for a birds theme décor set.  I plan to do an owls set, jungle set, Hollywood set, polka dots set, and chevron sets.  Here are some preview pics.  I have marked it on sale for the first week at 25% off.

Dollar Tree Finds
So excited to use those cut outs in my Hollywood/Movie Themed classroom.  I will use the gumball certificates on the 100th day of school.  Now I feel like I need to go to all of the Dollar Trees to see what else I can find.
Diaper Cake made by Me
I had a great time planning a baby shower for my best friend.  Here is the diaper cake I made. It was my first one.  I already have someone that has asked me to do one for a shower they are planning. :-)  Sorry for the bad lighting.

Five for Friday Linky!!!

I am linking up with Doodle Bugs for her Five for Friday linky party!!!
1. Workshops Galore
I have been doing a lot of professional development so far this summer.  I had a leadership team meeting at my school.  I went to a workshop on word study.  This week I went to a workshop on Common Core Math.  It was a great workshop.  I cannot wait to try out some of the things I learned.  The picture below is of an exit ticket we did that I would love to try in my class.
2. My Craigslist Find
So I get on Craigslist occasionally to find some good deals.  I am always searching for teacher garage sales.  I saw a post that sparked my interest for a bundle of teaching items for a Hollywood/movie themed classroom.   HHHHEEEEEYYYYYY!!! That was exactly what I was looking for! I drove for 40 minutes to meet her to pick it up.  I really think I hit the jackpot because I couldn't have found all of this stuff or made my own cute stuff.  I have included some pictures below.

3.  Brandy Concert
I enjoyed the Brandy concert with my friend.  She was really good and sang a lot of her older songs.

4.  H&M
Just opened this week here!  I can't wait to check it out!!

5.  Outing with Friends
It is so nice to be off and hang with friends!!
